Thomas Cook is one of the largest travel companies in Europe, with travel under its own label and under sounding brand names such as Neckermann and Pegase.
The financial department of Thomas Cook in Belgium not only processes their own incoming invoices, but also acts as a service centre for colleagues in the Netherlands and France for certain invoices. Every year, some 400,000 paper invoices arrive in Ghent, more than half of them between July and September. Read: a lot of work in a short time. As a result, 80% of the time spent by employees in the Ghent team was spent entering data.
We can now check whether invoices are correct much more quickly, which leaves our employees time for analyses.
Thanks to a combination of EasyForm modules, the Thomas Cook team spends barely 30% of their time on data input. We implemented our solution in two phases: a test phase with 20,000 invoices for overheads and then a second phase with more than 350,000 annual hotel invoices. Thanks to our own recognition systems and the advanced link with both SAP and Thomas Cook's reservation system, both types of invoices are now processed smoothly and correctly. And it doesn't stop there, because the autolearning function ensures that data is processed more and more smoothly: the more invoices are processed, the better the system runs.
